If can't afford BG, BC is a good choice for power supply, cathode bias cap also can but better use the axial type. Anyaway don't expect solid bass like BG.

I prefer to use one if you want a little thick sound. Provided the value is the same. using two or more smaller value always give you quicker and more dynamic sound than one. So it all depends on how is the sound of exisitng system.作者: andypoon 時間: 2008-7-24 10:06

Do you know how the value of plate resistor, and chatode bias resistor affect the sound?
Is it by using higher plate resistor (meaning low voltage on the plate) it will increase dynamic?
E.G for AN M-7 some use 50k plate resistor (voltage at plate ~80v), some use 10k resistor (voltage at plate ~140v). I personally found using 50k seems better dynamic and more open sound stage....what the theory behind?
how about the cathode biase resistor, last time i did change it, it seems it only change the volume (lower resistor higher volume)...any other effect?

WKZ Hear of Muse is my favourite capacitor for High Voltage Pre-amp and Power -amp, No other capacitor can give me that kind of plunch for bass....... i like it very much but now you cannot really get it any more.
For the Non-polar, it is very good for cathod by pass , it is of course better than normal blackgate.
However, I need to remind you that you need a really properly setup system to hear the difference. It does not mean an expensive one but a properly setup speakers and CD, otherwise, the money will be waste.作者: andypoon 時間: 2008-7-26 00:25
Thanks WINDWSS and accphoto. So I will stick to WKZ for B+ supply and try NH in cathod by pass when building my power-amp (probably a 300B) later. Thanks again for all your invaluable sharings.
