2A3 finally finished

I spent too much money on HiFi gears  this month . My Wife will kill me, if she found out.

But I am so happy by just looking at the HiFi gears. Don't even need to turn them on.
Besides the Sun Audio sv-2A3, I also bought a 200W solid state power amp and a solid state pre amp. Just wanna try out solid state amp.

I spent a fortune as well; that is why I have to sell off something to keep the balance.

Me and our "brothers" built the Pass Labs 1.7 last year. As you know, it is a transistor pre-amp. By the time I finish it, I am definitely sure it sounds better than my Marantz 7. But as I upgrade my M7 with copper tubes, the Pass Labs becomes the inferior one. I am not saying it is no good, but for sure my taste changed.

I am not sure whether you would like to have a transistor pre-amp to go with your Sun Audio 2A3. You have to try it out yourself.

Hey, have you start working on the Sun Audio Kit yet? Post some photos up if you have, ha..ha..

The transistor preamp I bought was not a kit.
It's Aragon 18K. I saw this on ebay.com and paid $310 USD for it. Planning to modify it with some Blackgate and Jensen caps.

I have a Marantz 7 kit too. I used A&B resistors, Auri Caps (for the 3.3uF) and Russian PIO caps (for the 0.033uf). It sounds very good.

My sister bought the sv-2a3 kit for me. The dealer in HK still have a couple kits. But they want to sell them for about 10,000 HKD each. It used to be HKD 6,800. I hope she will send it to me soon.

I will take of pictures of the projects I am working on.

Oh, your sister bought the kit already? My colleague knows the owner of Sun Audio's dealer here in HK. We went down just last week to have an audition of his modified 211 power amp.

Mailing the kit to US will be quite expensive! And, of course, the tax as well.

Awaiting your photos.  

I have took photos of my 300B project as well but very busy these 2 weeks. Will have more spare time after next Wed. Will continue to work on  the 300B and post the photos by then.

I am waiting for the opportunity to continue my work too. Flood with duties these few days. Still got a couple of reports to file after finish entering all those marks, remarks, grades ... etc. into the computer.

Next WED should be a better day.

心思思將部 2A3 改行 6SN7, 唔用 6SL7.

牛仔也用了 TANGO.

Modifying my existing 2A3 amp by using 6SN7 as the driver instead of the original 6SL7 design.

Power Transformer changed to Tango as well.

Yes, it sounds different.

Now, it has a bit more power but not as "驕" as before. I will try using different resistance (K) in the Output Transformer later.

Actually, this one is a "re-build" using many old parts. Therefore, not as beautiful as it can be as the resistors / capacitors' legs cut short already.
