BTW, my DAC 1955 MK2 intermittently displays 'no signal', though the co-axial is still 'locked'. Any glue? well, WD40 is not a conductor itself. while it has "removed deeply accumulated filth", you have left some non-conductive material on the socket. That is WD40. If you don't clean it off with something else, you have not quite improved the overall conductivity of the surface. Well, if we are using a microscope to look things up. there are always rugs and dens which prevent perfect contact. well , if it is not conducting electricity, it is isolating/insulating...... electron only pass through conductors. Is ok if you don't accept the fact and listen to someone who has knowledge.

You are correct. And oil is poor conductor.

My whole purpose is to clean up the 15 years old filth. I would have to worry if WD40 is a conductor and I didn't clean it up properly which potentially caused a short circuit.
