我未賣 CDT-17A之前也想過換了部機內的OPAMPs. 但後來都係決定換CD機.

剛剛買了幾條古河的電源及喇叭線. 今日又有東西玩了.

You mean the NEW NE 5534 no good at all? How to define "Old" ones? Produced before dd/mm/yyyy?

I think I have two NE 5534 too .... just can't remember where I put them. Bought them last year.

古河 Speaker Cable 同電源線都是從 Hi Fi Fever 代購的.

Modi Sir 真是無介紹錯. 我今日只有時間做 Speaker Cables. 但兩條線的表現真是很滿意. 只是幾十元一呎, 但女人聲真是好好聽 !!

I finally did the Power Cable last night. Connect it to the CEC CD transport. So far, the impression is not as good as the speaker cable.
For the speaker cables, once I connect them and turn the system on, I can hear more CLEAR and DETAILED sound. Some "hidden" instruments in the past now surface and then I know they exist.

For the power cable, the sound becomes blur instead. I think the cable has to be run in before it can produce good sound.

終於做了第一條電源線. 後果沒有喇叭線那麼明顯. 換了喇叭線後, 聲音清晰了, 細緻了. 有一些以前唔明顯的樂器現在聽得多了.

但換了電源線後,聲音相反變得"蒙"了. 我相信條線要煲一陣先會好聲.

The phase should be OKAY. I use Furutech KI 11M plugs. The color for different wires are different. And, they were properly labelled "L", "N" and "E" or so.

I have no idea why this happened. I will leave the cable run in for a couple of days and see how it turns up compare with my previous one. I WAS using Denko AV grade power cables. I "think" they are around $ 40 / ft.
The one I just got is Furutech 3TS 20.

I double checked the DIRECTION of flow as well.

Is there any way to check the phase EXCEPT opening up the plug?

There used to be those "testing pen" which you insert into the LIVE will give a glow .... I think those are no longer available.

Any other good and SAFE method?

I turn the CD on for over 12 hours. Later last night, I switched off the air conditioner and run the system again at 10:30pm

This time, the true result reveals.....

With Furutech Power Cable, I am able to get further extensions in High Frequency and Bass. The instruments become more precise and accurate.

I think I MUST be too tired on Friday night or so .... my ears gone to sleep and being not that sensitive.

Conclusion: With the Furutech Speaker and Power Cables, I am able to get more DETAIALS, the music is more OPEN and the ECHO is much better.

I have 3TS20 and 314Ag. Still testing them out.

But compared with my original Denko AV cable (around $ 40 / ft.), it is much much better.

The 3TS20 is far more expensive than the 314Ag. From my point of view, the 314Ag is a better bargain. I am not saying that 3TS20 is no good but value for money sense, the 314Ag is a better bargain.

Second point I would like to make. When you go for the Furutech plugs, I would suggest you to go for the FI 11 (USA plug). I don't recall the equivalent for the 13A. This plug costs around HK$ 3xx but its construction is VERY solid and easily done compared with lower price Furutech ones.

My preliminery test so far --- Bass is more "realistic" and "punchy". Further extension in both high freq. and lower freq.

ha..ha.. Yes, 3TS20 is a better one and is much thicker.

That is a problem with my setup. All my components are put inside a shelf. Unfortunately, the hole drilled was too small to fit in lots of Power and Signal cables with the size of the 3TS20. For some, I have to go for thinner cables / wires.

Hi Fi got some resemblance with computer cpu. The higher the price, often, the faster the speed. But 10% increase in speed often cost you 30% increase in price.

One more thing these two toys have in common --- you will be SATURATED with the effects very soon. Then, you want to upgrade or change something .... and that COST YOU MONEY   .....  both are 無底深潭

Overall speaking, the investment in the Speaker and Power Cables from Furutech is, I would consider, a good investment.

First, they are not very expensive. To me, the investment is just around 10% of all my equipment cost.

Second, they last. The plugs can last for a long period of time.

Third, the difference is significant. You can really tell the difference. I was using M.I.T. speaker cables and Denko power cables. I won't go back to them anymore.

Well, you can try following my practice .. ha..ha..

I will sell out my excess stock, amp., pre-amp., speakers, etc. In this way, I can always keep my space sufficient.
