Pre-Amp & Power-Amp not match

Dear brothers,

Pre-Amp = CounterPoint SA-1000E
Poser-Amp = Audio Research Classic 60
CD-Player = Denon 2910
Speaker = ProAc Response 2

I bought/install an 2nd hand AR Power Amp (Classic 60) last nigth. I found two problem.

1) the speaker sound like 'hmmmmmm' even thought i turned the volumn to the minimum.

2)the sound is very loud even i turned up volumn a little bit  (around 3 degree).

Don't know whether affected by the match of the Pre and Power Amp. Can any big brothers help. Thanks a lot.

'hmmmmmm' ..have you checked all the tubes of your pre-amp and power amp? or open the case to make sure no wires disconnect....or broken.

Did you check before buy and make make sure has no such sound before connect together?

May be problem of tubes , hope you can find it out.
